It was in 1912 when Georgios Georgaris, an immigrant in the United States, decided to return to Greece to fight in the Balkan Wars. From that moment on, he remained in his homeland. After World War II, he chose to pursue his passion for olive oil production. Today, the Georgaris family owns more than 2,500 trees of the \u201cManaki\u201d variety, located in the area of Mapsos, Corinth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The products<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For BeQuest Corinthian<\/a>, olives of the renowned \u201cManaki\u201d variety are harvested from BeQuest\u2019s privately owned grove in Tenea, Corinth. The harvest is carried out by hand to protect the fruit, and processing takes place within 12 hours of collection. Leaves and branches are removed after the olives are washed with cold water. They are then pressed using a hydraulic press, without heat, hot water, or the use of solvents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result is a premium cold-extracted extra virgin olive oil<\/strong>. During bottling, nitrogen is added to the glass bottle to preserve the olive\u2019s freshness, as well as the oil\u2019s organoleptic and chemical properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same process is followed for BeQuest Eklekton<\/a>, with the difference that it is produced from olives harvested while still green and unripe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The family\u2019s most exclusive creation is BeQuest Gold<\/a> \u2014 a premium extra virgin olive oil infused with edible 24-carat gold flakes<\/strong>. For its production, the Georgaris family selects Manaki olives exclusively from century-old trees in their privately owned groves in Corinth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the time of the Pharaohs, gold has been regarded as a substance capable of winning the favor of the gods, while in ancient China it was considered a remedy and a key to youth. In Russia, the Tsars used it in their dishes and delicacies as a purifier against microbes and poisons. Gold is considered \u201cbiologically inert,\u201d meaning it passes through the digestive system without being absorbed, making it safe for consumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Health benefits<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The meticulous care during harvesting, combined with BeQuest\u2019s production method, results in an olive oil exceptionally rich in polyphenols and antioxidants<\/strong>. Olive oil polyphenols help protect blood lipids from oxidative stress. Compounds such as oleocanthal, oleacein, and their derivatives offer protective health benefits, contributing to the prevention of cardiovascular diseases and the reduction of inflammation. Recent research also suggests a protective role against Alzheimer\u2019s disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to EU Regulation 432\/2012, a \u201chealth claim\u201d may only be made for olive oil containing at least 250 mg of polyphenols per 1 kg of oil. BeQuest significantly exceeds this threshold. The beneficial effects are achieved with a recommended daily intake of at least 20 g of olive oil.<\/p>\n\n\n
